About Comp-U-Dopt

Founded in 2007 by John Osha, Comp-U-Dopt, Inc. provides refurbished computers and technology education to enthusiastic, motivated children in under served communities of the Greater Houston area. Our corporate and individual supporters and volunteers foster the educational aspirations of deserving children and encourage better environmental stewardship and community service.

To receive a computer each child must apply for a computer and submit an essay. The child must attend a two-hour computer “adoption” session with his or her parent or guardian to learn software use and computer care. Applications are available at selected schools, religious organizations, and community centers. Online applications are available in English and Spanish here.

By partnering with other nonprofit organizations, building alliances with corporate donors and supporters, growing our volunteer base, and continuing to search for donor and grant funding, Comp-U-Dopt continues to expand its work in more Houston communities.

Comp-U-Dopt, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) charity and your donation is tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Upon receipt of your financial support, computers, and/or gifts-in-kind, we will send you a letter acknowledging your donation and providing necessary information for tax purposes.
