Compudopt is proud to be a participating organization in the Illinois Tech Reuse Network, a statewide initiative coordinated by the Illinois Office of Broadband that helps extend the life of donated technology and expand digital access across Illinois. Through this program, businesses and institutions donate surplus computers and devices that Compudopt securely wipes, professionally refurbishes, and distributes directly to individuals and families at no cost.
As part of the Illinois Tech Reuse Network, Compudopt combines secure IT asset disposition, industry standard data erasure, and community based distribution to transform unused technology into tools for education, workforce readiness, and economic opportunity. Devices that cannot be reused are responsibly recycled, ensuring meaningful environmental outcomes alongside community impact.
All refurbished computers are provided free of charge through Compudopt tech education programs and community distribution events, helping reduce electronic waste while strengthening communities throughout Illinois.
