At Mesa Earth Day Event, Compudopt Drives Tech Donations
Dozens of computers and tech devices were collected at the April 22 event on the Chandler Gilbert Community College’s Pecos Campus

In partnership with the
Chandler Gilbert Community College (CGCC) in Maricopa County, Arizona, Compudopt hosted an e-waste donation drive as part of the college’s 2026 Earth Day events.
Weeks prior to the event, CGCC administrators shared information encouraging students, staff, and other community members in the area to make plans to donate their retired tech. Coyotes heard the call! In just a few hours, dozens of devices were donated, including laptops, desktop computers, monitors, mice, and phones.
“I’m thankful to be part of work that brings people together around sustainability, access, and digital equity, especially alongside partners like Chandler‑Gilbert Community College,” said Michelle Kari, Program Director of Compudopt Mesa. “Moments like this remind me how powerful community collaboration can be.”

CGCC staff and students engaged, connected, and learned how Compudopt creates impact through donated devices.
All devices will go through Compudopt’s secure, sustainable, and socially impactful
ITAD+ process. First, any computers that can be refurbished will be securely data-wiped, reconditioned, and given for free to community members who cannot afford a device of their own. All other devices will be recycled following R2v3 guidelines, the highest standard for e-waste processing.
In addition to driving tech donations, the event was an opportunity to share Compudopt’s mission of empowering communities with free computers, affordable internet, and tech education.
