On Saturday, March 28, 2026, Compudopt gave away a total of 133 laptops to local residents at the 8th Annual Care Fair Tempe at the Tempe Community Complex.
From under a white tent, Compudopt team members Michelle Kari, Jose Padilla, and Andres Cuevas, handed out the computers, connecting local individuals and families to new digital resources and educational opportunities.
Hosted by the
Tempe Community Council, the free, family-friendly event brought together 100+ nonprofit organizations and human service providers in one place to share information, answer questions, and connect individuals and families to support in areas including affordable housing, mental health, education, youth and families, financial assistance, healthcare, hunger, employment, and, of course, technology access. Attendees had access to extensive resources, including on-site health screenings, a job fair, free fresh produce, haircuts, clothing, and family entertainment like a Kids Fun Zone and live music.
1,200 community members attended this year’s Care Fair Tempe, including long-time Tempe mayor Corey Woods, nearly tripling last year’s numbers.
Without partners like the Tempe Community Council, Compudopt’s work of closing the digital divide would not be possible.
